The design features a Persian-style central medallion, surrounded by a lush red field teeming with floral vines, palmettes, and arabesques—motifs that trace their lineage to the 15th-century Persian influence introduced to Kashmir under Sultan Zain-ul-Abidin (Budshah). These design traditions were later refined during the Mughal era, blending Persian aesthetics with Kashmiri symbolism like the chinar leaf and tree-of-life, often seen in the region’s textile heritage
